Spoon Bread With Green Chiles, Corn And Cheese - cooking recipe

1 (1 lb) can cream-style corn
3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup shortening
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies, drained
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Combine corn, milk, shortening, eggs, cornmeal, soda, baking powder, salt, drained chiles and cheese.
Mix well.
Pour into greased 9-inch square pan.
Bake for 45 minutes until golden.
Serve hot.
