Competition Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 (16 ounce) cans red beans
    1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce, see recipe for FAT CAT Spicy sauce, but your own is fine
    1 cup catsup
    1/4 cup molasses
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup beer
    1/2 cup apple cider
    1 onion, chopped fine
    4 slices bacon, chopped
    2 garlic cloves, chopped
    2 tablespoons olive oil
Preparation
    Drain beans.
    In a dutch oven fry bacon till crisp, do not drain grease, and add 2 tbsp olive oil.
    Add onion, and soften (about 5 minutes).
    Add garlic.
    Add drained beans and all other ingredients.
    Simmer 2 hours at least before serving (1 hour covered, 1 hour uncovered).
