Old English Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 quarts milk
    2 tablespoons butter
    3 eggs, beaten
    2 1/4 cups sugar
    1 1/4 cups cornstarch
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons vanilla
Preparation
    In a sauce pan, combine milk and butter.
    Bring to a boil.
    Mix a medium bowl, combine eggs, sugar, cornstarch and salt.
    Slowly whisk 1 c.
    hot milk mix.
    into egg.
    Gradually whisk egg back to remaining milk mix.
    Continue to cook, stirring constantly for 5 min.
    Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
    Allow to cool.
