Pineapple Cookies I - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 cups white sugar
    1 cup shortening
    1 cup crushed pineapple with juice
    1 egg
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 pinch salt
    1 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
    Mix all ingredients in the order given. Drop by tablespoonful onto cookie sheet.
    Bake for 8 - 10 minutes until brown.
