Caramel Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. light brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. light cream or regular milk
Preparation
    Melt butter in heavy 2-quart pan. Stir in sugar, syrup, vanilla
    and
    salt.
    Heat
    to
    boiling. Reduce heat;
    simmer 5 minutes,
    stirring\tconstantly.
    Gradually stir in cream; heat to boiling. Stir constantly.
    Remove from heat. Serve warm or cool. Makes 2 cups.
