Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large apples, cut in small cubes
    1 large can undrained crushed pineapple
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/3 c. flour
    1 c. nuts
    1 c. cherries
    3/4 stick butter
    8 oz. Cool Whip
Preparation
    Sift together flour and sugar.
    Mix in pineapple.
    Cook in double boiler until thick.
    Add butter and cool.
    Mix with apples and put in dish.
    Pat Cool Whip on top.
    Sprinkle with nuts and cherries.
