Ingredients

1 stick margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1 pkg. chopped dates
1 c. chopped nuts (pecans)
2 c. Rice Krispies
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Melt together margarine and sugar.
Be sure sugar is well melted.
Use a heavy utensil at low temperature and stir constantly.
Add egg, cook until thick.
Add dates (dates will dissolve in hot mixture).
Add nuts, Rice Krispies and vanilla. Form into small balls, stretch into fingers as you roll.
Then roll in coconut.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
