Ingredients

2 c. (two 1 lb. cans) beets, sliced and cooked or canned, drained
3/4 c. vinegar (apple cider)
1/4 c. water
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. powdered cloves
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine all ingredients, except beets.
Add beets.
Simmer until tender, 1/2 hour or so.
