Ozark Apple Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
2 eggs, beaten
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. water
2 tsp. vanilla
4 c. finely chopped, peeled apples
1/2 c. pecans
Caramel Sauce
Preparation

Cream the sugar, shortening and eggs in mixer bowl for 1 minute. Sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt together. Add to creamed mixture, stirring with a wooden spoon.
Add water, vanilla, apples and pecans, stirring to mix. Spoon into greased 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45
to 50 minutes or until cake tests done.
Cut into squares. Spoon warm Caramel Sauce over each serving.
