Ingredients

1 qt. milk
3/4 c. maple syrup
2 Tbsp. butter
2/3 c. yellow cornmeal
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 1/2 c. dark seedless raisins
Preparation

Heat oven to 300\u00b0.
Grease shallow 2-quart casserole.
In a 2-quart saucepan, combine 3 cups milk and syrup; heat just to boiling over medium heat.
Add butter.
In small bowl, combine cornmeal, ginger and nutmeg.
Gradually stir into hot milk in saucepan.
Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring, until thickened (about 10 minutes).
Stir in raisins and spoon into casserole dish.
Pour in remaining milk; do not stir.
Bake for 2 1/2 hours, until milk is absorbed and top is golden brown.
