Pie Meringue Stabilizer - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. sugar + 2 Tbsp.
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. cold water
    3 egg whites
Preparation
    Cook first 3 ingredients until thickened.
    Cool.
    Beat egg whites until stiff and add cooled mixture.
    Beat once more.
    Spread over pie, making sure meringue touches crust.
