Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1/3 c. flour (to dredge pecans and citron in)
    1/2 c. butter, softened
    1 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 (16 oz.) can applesauce
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    1 1/2 c. raisins
    1/4 c. chopped citron
    1/4 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. brewed coffee
Preparation
    Combine pecans and citron.
    Dredge in 1/3 cup of flour to coat evenly.
    Set aside.
    Cream butter and shortening.
    Add sugar gradually.
    Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Combine flour and next 5 ingredients, alternating with applesauce. Begin and end with flour mixture.
    Add vanilla, lemon juice and coffee.
    Mix well.
    Stir in pecan and citron mixture.
