Texas Okra Gumbo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. medium shrimp
    1 1/2 lb. Louis Rich smoked turkey sausage, cut in 1/4-inch slices (smoked chicken or pork sausage can be substituted)
    10 or 12 chicken winglets
    1 c. rice
    2 c. water
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    2 medium onions, chopped
    salt and pepper to taste
    hot sauce to taste
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, put chicken winglets, onion, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, hot sauce and water.
    Cook about 45 minutes or until chicken is tender.
    Add sausage, shrimp, rice and okra; add more tomato and water, if needed.
    Cook on slow fire until done.
    (The dish should have the consistency of thick soup.) Serve with crackers.
