Ingredients

1 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
6 eggs, separated
2 tsp. lemon flavoring
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream the Crisco and sugar.
Add egg yolks, one at a time, then add flour.
Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately to sugar mixture with buttermilk, beginning and ending with the flour. Beat egg whites until very stiff and fold into cake mixture. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
