Oatmeal Crispies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. oatmeal
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    3/4 c. flour (add 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. baking soda if not using self-rising flour)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Stir in egg.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat well.
    Add flour (salt and soda if needed).
    Stir in oatmeal.
    Mix well.
    Drop 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake 10 minutes at 400\u00b0.
    Makes 3 dozen.
