Leah Bean'S Raisin And White Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 2/3 c. sugar
    1 scant c. shortening
    4 eggs
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. sifted flour plus 2 Tbsp.
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 Tbsp. molasses
    1/2 c. ground raisins
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar well; add eggs and vanilla.
    Beat well.
    Add flour, baking powder and salt alternately with milk. Mix well after each addition.
    Take out 2/3 of batter and place in separate bowl.
    Add 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 1 teaspoon cloves. Divide this batter between 2 greased and floured cake pans.
    To remaining 1/3 batter, add 1 tablespoon molasses and 1/2 cup ground raisins.
    Pour this batter into a third greased and floured cake pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes.
    Frost this 3 layer cake with boiled frosting.
