Fried Onion Rings - cooking recipe

Allowing 1/2 onion per serving, cut large Bermuda or Spanish onions in 1/3 to 1/4-inch thick slices.
Separate into rings.
Dry thoroughly; coat generously with flour.
Using tongs, dip rings into thin fritter batter (follows), letting excess drip off.
Fry a few at a time in 1/2 to 1-inch deep hot fat or oil for about 2 minutes or until golden.
Drain.
