Apple Taffy Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 beaten egg
    2 Tbsp. brown vinegar
    8 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained (reserve juice)
    4 c. Delicious apples (both red and green) in small bite-size chunks with skins on
    1 c. Spanish peanuts
    1 (8 oz.) container Cool Whip
Preparation
    Combine sugar, flour, egg, vinegar and drained pineapple juice from the crushed pineapple.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick (doesn't take long).
    Cool in refrigerator. When cool, add fruits, nuts and Cool Whip.
    Cover and refrigerate.
