Rock Candy - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 c. water
1 tsp. Lorann flavoring
food coloring
powdered sugar (optional)
Preparation

Mix sugar, syrup and water together. Place in a heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil without stirring until temperature reaches 310\u00b0. Remove from heat. When boiling ceases, stir in flavoring and coloring. Pour mixture into buttered cookie sheet. The mixture will get hard, break into pieces. (I cover a hammer with a plastic bag to break into pieces.) Put into an airtight container and sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar.
