Baked Apple French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large loaf French bread
    8 eggs
    3 c. milk
    3/4 c. sugar, divided
    1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
    5 Granny Smith apples
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Oil 9 x 13-inch pan. Slice bread into 1 1/2-inch slices.
    Place bread into pan.
    In bowl, slightly beat eggs.
    Add milk, 1/4 cup sugar and vanilla; mix with whisk.
    Pour half liquid over bread.
    Peel, core and slice apples to make rings.
    Place apple rings on top of bread to cover.
    Pour remaining mixture over apples.
    Mix remaining 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon.
    Sprinkle evenly over apples.
    Dot with butter.
    Bake for 35 minutes.
    Cool 5 to 10 minutes.
    Serve with maple syrup.
