Sweet Chunk Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    14 cucumbers (5 inches long)
    1 qt. vinegar
    8 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. whole pickling spices
    2 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers.
    Pour boiling water over; let stand overnight. Drain.
    On four consecutive days, repeat the process.
    Add fresh boiling water and drain.
    On the fifth day, cut drained cucumbers into 1/4-inch slices.
