Paw'S Favorite Old Fashion Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raisins
    2 c. flour (plain)
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. clove
    1 c. Crisco shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. oats
    1 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation
    Be careful in your selection.
    Do not choose too young.
Take only such that has been raised in a good moral atmosphere.
Some insist on keeping them in a pickle, while others keep them in hot water.
This only makes sour, hard and sometimes bitter.
Even poor varieties may be made sweet, tender and good by garnishing them with patience, well sweetened with smiles and flavored with kisses to taste, then wrap them in a mantle for charity, keep them warm with a steady fire of steady devotion, and serve with three good meals a day.
When this is prepared, they will keep for years.
