Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, broken into bite-sized pieces
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    2 to 3 stalks celery, chopped
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
    8 oz. jar Miracle Whip (do not use mayo)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
    1/2 c. bacon bits (may use imitation)
Preparation
    In an 8 x 13-inch Tupperware or airtight container, spread lettuce as bottom layer, then sprinkle onion, green pepper, celery and peas in turn.
    Spread Miracle Whip over all as if it were frosting.
    Sprinkle sugar over Miracle Whip, then sprinkle cheese and bacon bits.
    Seal tightly.
    Keep in refrigerator overnight. Best if served after 24 hours.
    Will keep in refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
