Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. shortening (butter)
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    2 c. thick applesauce
    1 c. light and dark raisins
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together; set aside.
    Cream shortening and sugar well.
    Add eggs.
    Stir in applesauce.
    Blend in flour mixture in 3 additions, stirring in raisins and walnuts with the last flour addition.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes in well-greased metal pan, 8 x 11-inch or larger.
