Southwestern Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 oz. pkg. pinto beans (soak at least 8 hours to help prevent gas)
    1 lb. bacon, cut up
    2 c. chopped onions
    3 gloves garlic
    16 oz. tomato sauce
    3 Tbsp. chili powder
    1/2 tsp. oregano leaves
    1/2 tsp. salt (add more for your own taste)
    1/2 tsp. pepper (add more for your own taste)
    3 Tbsp. cumin (add more for your own taste)
Preparation
    Cover; simmer beans for 3 to 3 1/2 hours, until tender.
    In large skillet, cook bacon, onions and garlic until bacon is crisp. Add bacon mixture and rest of ingredients.
    Stir well.
    Simmer, uncovered, an additional 20 to 30 minutes.
    Makes 8 (3/4 cup) servings.
