Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 slices bacon
2 large green tomatoes (1 1/2 lb.), sliced 1/2-inch thick
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
2/3 c. all-purpose flour
1 large egg, beaten
2 to 4 Tbsp. margarine or butter
Preparation

Cook bacon in a 10-inch cast-iron skillet over medium heat until crisp; drain on paper towels.
Discard drippings. Meanwhile, sprinkle slices evenly on both sides with sugar, salt and pepper.
Place flour and egg separately in 2 shallow dishes. Dip tomatoes in flour to coat, shaking off excess.
Dip in egg, turning to coat completely.
Then dip in flour again.
Add butter or margarine to same skillet and melt over medium heat.
Add tomato slices and cook until golden (about 3 minutes) per side. Serve with bacon.
Yields 4 servings.
