Caramel Chews - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 c. broken walnuts, peanuts or pecans
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Melt butter and add sugar, corn syrup and sweetened condensed milk and stir continually until it boils and candy thermometer reads 240\u00b0. Remove from heat and add the nuts and vanilla. Lightly butter a pan and pour batter into pan. Leave at room temperature 3 or 4 hours until it hardens. Wrap in wax paper. Twist ends of paper and clip ends with scissors.
