Bacon Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. yellow cornmeal
    1/4 c. sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    2 eggs
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. cooking oil or shortening, melted
    6 strips bacon, crisp cooked and crumbled
    1 (8 oz.) container soft-style cream cheese
    hot pepper jelly
Preparation
    Combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
    Add eggs, milk and cooking oil.
    Beat just until smooth (do not overbeat).
    Stir in bacon and turn mixture into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
    Bake in a 425\u00b0 oven about 15 minutes; cool.
    Cut into 1 1/4-inch squares.
    To serve, spread each square with some cream cheese and a dollop of jelly.
    Makes 54 squares.
