Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 3/4 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1/2 c. warm water
Preparation
    Combine milk and vinegar (or use buttermilk).
    Cream shortening and sugar well together.
    Add eggs and beat for one minute.
    Sift together flour and salt.
    Combine sour milk and vanilla.
    Add alternately with dry ingredients, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
    Mix soda with cocoa and warm water. Add to batter and mix well.
    Pour into two 8 or 9-inch pans that have been well-greased and floured.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
