Carol'S Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. nuts, chopped
    1/4 c. finely chopped onion
    1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
    1 c. shredded carrots
    1/2 c. butter, melted
    10 oz. pkg. Cheddar cheese, grated
    2 lb. yellow squash (6 c.)
    1 c. sour cream
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. Pepperidge Farm herb seasoned stuffing
Preparation
    In saucepan, steam squash and onion in boiling water for 5 minutes.
    Drain well and mash.
    Set aside.
