Berry Delicious Syrup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, cherries or currants (enough to produce 2 1/2 pt. of juice)
    2 lb. sugar
    1 pt. water
Preparation
    Mash berries well and strain through a jelly bag or use a juicer.
    Add water and sugar to a preserving kettle and place over heat, stirring until dissolved.
    Bring to a boil, continue stirring until clear and skim.
    Let syrup boil again until a soft ball is formed in cold water, then slowly add the fruit juice. Boil again.
    Skim, pour into hot sterilized jars and seal.
