Christmas Eve Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, finely chopped
    1 can Mexican stewed tomatoes
    1 can diced tomatoes
    1 can pinto beans
    1 can pinto beans (with jalapenos)
    2 cans yellow hominy
    1/2 large can V-8 juice
    1 pkg. dry taco mix
    1 pkg. dry Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
Preparation
    Brown beef with onion and garlic.
    Add remaining ingredients (do not drain vegetables).
    Simmer 1 to 2 hours. Serve with sliced avocado, grated cheese, chips and sour cream, if desired.
