Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 Tbsp. butter
3/4 c. milk or more if necessary
1/3 c. flour (for board)
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients into bowl.
Cut in shortening with spoon until well mixed.
Add milk gradually, mixing to form a soft ball. Sift 1/3 cup flour on board or waxed paper.
With rolling pin, roll out dough into a thin sheet.
Dot half of sheet with butter and fold other half over.
Fold again.
Handle quickly and roll out to desired thickness (1/2 to 1-inch).
Cut with floured cutter and put on ungreased baking sheet or pan.
Bake in hot oven at 400\u00b0 to 425\u00b0 until brown.
