Ginger Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening (oil)
    1 c. dark molasses
    1 c. hot water
    2 tsp. soda
    4 tsp. ginger
    5 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream the sugar, shortening and molasses together.
    Stir the hot water and soda until dissolved.
    Mix flour and ginger, then add everything together to make a thick dough.
    Drop by spoonful into a dish of sugar.
    When coated with sugar, roll into a ball. Flatten on cookie sheet.
    Bake 8 minutes at 375\u00b0.
