Bessie'S Picnic Layer Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3/4 c. margarine
1 7/8 c. sugar
3 eggs or equal amount of egg substitute
2 7/8 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. each: cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves
2 rounded Tbsp. cocoa
2 c. applesauce
1 1/2 c. raisins, rinsed
1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans

Preparation

Mix margarine and sugar together.
Blend in eggs or egg substitute (Egg Beaters, Scramblers, etc.).
Blend in dry ingredients, alternating with applesauce.
Fold in raisins and nuts.
