Lentil Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 qt. water
    2 c. lentils
    2 stalks celery, sliced
    1 can stewed tomatoes
    2 carrots, sliced
    1 onion, chopped
    1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
    1 tsp. basil
    1/3 c. oil
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Place first 5 ingredients in large kettle; bring to boil. Saute onion, mushrooms and basil in oil.
    Add to other ingredients.
    Cook until vegetables are tender.
    This stew tastes like it has meat in it.
