German Chocolate Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. Adams butter flavor
    3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 pkg. German sweet chocolate
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs, flavors and buttermilk. Sift together flour, soda and salt; add.
    Mix well.
    Add German chocolate that has been softened in warm oven or in double boiler. Blend together well.
    Cook in 9-inch stem pan that has been well-greased and dusted with flour, about 1 1/2 hours at 300\u00b0. Test with toothpick.
    If done, toothpick will come out clean when inserted in cake's center.
    Place cake under a tight fitting cake cover while still hot and leave covered until cold.
