Pineapple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 c. crushed pineapple (just as it comes from the can)
    2 1/2 c. cake flour
    1/4 c. water
    3 egg whites, beaten stiff
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together.
    Add vanilla and crushed pineapple, then a portion of flour which has been sifted with baking powder and salt.
    Add water alternately with the remaining flour and stir only until smooth.
    Fold in egg whites, beaten stiff, and place in 2 (8-inch) greased and floured layer cake pans.
    Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cool and ice between layers and on top and sides with seven-minute icing.
