Ice Cream Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pkg. Oreo cookies
    1 stick butter or oleo
    1 medium box Cool Whip
    1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
    1 1/2 Tbsp. chocolate syrup
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Crush cookies until fine.
    Melt butter and mix with cookies. Reserve 1 cup cookie mixture, then pat remaining mixture into a 9 x 12-inch cake pan. Spoon in softened ice cream.
    Spoon on whipped topping and drizzle with syrup.
    Sprinkle with cookie crumbs and nuts.
    Keep in freezer.
    Cut into bars.
