Ingredients

2 c. flour (white or half white and whole wheat)
2 tsp. baking powder
2 Tbsp. sugar or honey
2 eggs, separated
2 c. milk
4 to 6 Tbsp. melted shortening or oil
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients.
Beat egg yolks, then mix with shortening,
honey or sugar and milk.
Mix dry ingredients and liquids enough to just blend them.
Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.
Bake according to manufacturer's instructions for your waffle iron.
Makes about 6 large waffles.
