Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
3 Tbsp. shortening
4 Tbsp. cream
1 c. milk
6 level Tbsp. flour
1 egg yolk
Preparation

Cook first 3 ingredients in an iron skillet until thick and brown.
The browner it is cooked, the more butterscotch taste it has.
Then mix the next 3 ingredients together and add to first mixture, stirring constantly.
Cook until thick and pour into pie crust.
