Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. squash, thinly sliced
    2 c. onion, thinly sliced
    2 c. vinegar
    4 bell peppers, chopped
    2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    3 c. sugar
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Mix squash and onions. Sprinkle with salt. Let sit for 1 hour; drain. Mix vinegar, sugar, celery and mustard seeds. Add peppers. Bring to a hard boil. Add squash and onions to mixture. Bring to a hard boil and cook for approximately 15 minutes. Fill jars and seal.
