Potato-Topped Beef Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. bacon slices, cut in half
    1 lb. thinly sliced round steak
    2 or 3 carrots, thinly sliced
    3 medium onions, thinly sliced
    5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Layer all ingredients in casserole in order listed.
    Pour 1 cup water over top.
    Bake, covered, at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Bake, uncovered, for several minutes longer, or until potatoes are brown.
