Cabbage Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage (about 12 c.)
    1 onion, chopped
    6 Tbsp. butter
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    8 oz. American cheese, cubed
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/4 c. bread crumbs
Preparation
    Cook cabbage in salted boiling water until tender; drain. Saute onion in 5 tablespoons of butter.
    Add soup mixture and mix well.
    Add cheese; heat and stir into cabbage, salt and pepper. Melt butter until browned; sprinkle over casserole.
    Bake in uncovered dish.
