Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. squash
    2 green peppers
    8 small onions
    1/2 c. salt
    5 c. sugar
    5 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Slice squash, peppers and onions paper thin. Mix together first 4 ingredients. Let stand 3 hours, rinse and drain. Mix together next 6 ingredients. Heat to boiling point. Add squash mixture and bring to boiling point again. Do not boil. Put in jars and seal.
