Rosy Red Rhubarb Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    3/4 c. milk
    1 pkg. (3 oz.) strawberry gelatin
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    6 c. rhubarb, finely diced
    6 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Cut shortening into
    sifted
    dry
    ingredients and brown sugar as for pie crust.
    Add
    egg
    and
    milk;
    mix thoroughly. Spread in bottom and a little up
    the
    sides\tof
    a
    13
    x 9 x 2-inch pan; mixture will
    be moist.
    Top with rhubarb.\tSprinkle gelatin powder over.
    Mix
    butter
    with sugar and flour as for pie crust. Sprinkle over
    rhubarb.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 50 minutes.
