Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. butter (no oleo)
3 c. sugar
6 eggs, separated
5 c. flour
1 lb. white raisins
1 qt. pecans
1 lb. candied cherries
1 lb. candied pineapple
1 tsp. soda
2 Tbsp. warm water
2 oz. lemon extract
Preparation

Cream butter, egg yolks and sugar well.
Add lemon extract. Mix pecans and fruit with 2 cups sifted flour in a large pan. Blend in the remaining 3 cups flour to butter and sugar mixture. Mix soda and warm water.
Add to flour mixture.
Mix well and add fruit and nuts.
Beat egg whites until stiff and add to other ingredients.
Pour into 2 greased and floured Bundt or angel cake pans.
Bake in a 250\u00b0 oven for 3 hours.
Place a pan of water under cake while baking to prevent burning.
