Elaine Hurst'S Eggless, Milkless Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium apples, peeled and diced
    2 c. raisins
    2 c. water
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    2 Tbsp. lard
    3 c. flour (self-rising)
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Combine apples, raisins, water, brown sugar, white sugar and lard in a large saucepan and cook 5 minutes.
    Cool completely. Sift the remaining ingredients in large bowl.
    Add apple-raisin mixture.
    Blend well.
    Add 1 cup walnuts or pecans.
    Pour into greased and floured pan, 9 x 12-inch and bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0, or until cake is done.
