Tender Roast Beef - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. rump or sirloin tip beef roast
    3 slices bacon
    1 bay leaf
    salt and pepper
    1 onion, quartered
Preparation
    In Dutch oven or large pot, fry bacon.
    Remove bacon.
    Brown beef in bacon fat on all sides.
    Put 2 cups hot water in Dutch oven with bay leaf and onion; simmer 3 hours.
    Take roast out and let it cool slightly.
    Slice thin.
