Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3 c. flour
3 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
1 c. buttermilk
6 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
2 tsp. lemon extract
1/4 tsp. mace (optional)

Preparation

Blend sugar and shortening in mixing bowl.
Add eggs, one at a time, blending at low speed after each.
Add flavoring.
Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until top is firm.
Remove from oven; loosen around edges with knife and pour topping over cake.
